Kyabjé Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdrel Yeshe Dorje was the supreme spiritual leader of the Nyingma school, from 1960 until his Mahaparinirvana. He was a poet, writer, tertön (discoverer of secret teachings), historian (The Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, its Fundamentals and History), meditation teacher and tantric yogi. He left the body on January 17, 1987 in Dordogne, France, and was enthroned in a stupa in his monastery in Boudhanath, Kathmandu (Nepal).
